Let’s be honest. The juggle is real. Between the morning chaos of getting the kids out the door, staying on top of work, and trying to squeeze in a moment to breathe (and maybe a sip of coffee while it’s still hot), it’s no wonder so many of us feel like we’re constantly in survival mode. And when life feels like one long to-do list, one of the first things to slide is our presentation.
I see it time and time again with my clients. Amazing, hardworking women who are doing all the things, but who quietly admit they’ve lost their style along the way. Since the shift in workplace dress codes, where loungewear and leggings crept in as the new norm, it’s become even harder to strike the balance between looking put-together and being comfortable.
Here’s the thing though. When your outfit feels too sloppy, it starts to affect how you feel. It’s not just about looking nice for others, it’s about how you show up for yourself.
Studies have shown that getting dressed in the morning - really dressed, with intention can actually improve your mood, boost productivity and shift your mindset. Wearing colour especially can lift your energy (even if it’s just a pop of it with a bright knit or a cheerful scarf).
With that in mind, I’ve put together some wearable, everyday outfit ideas for the busy working mums who needs to get the kids to school and hop on a Zoom call without feeling overdressed or uncomfortable. These looks are stylish, easy-to-wear and full of personality because style should be a reflection of you, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Of course, not every outfit will be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s totally okay. But if you’re stuck in a rut and craving a bit of inspiration, these looks are a great place to start. They’re designed to work hard for your lifestyle, from school run, meetings, errands, and everything in between.
