These seasons fashion collections were showcased by designers like no other. Many designers opted for digital live streams, Instagram and Youtube lives for their new season collections. Like many of us, designers had to adapt by working throughout the global pandemic by keeping the focus on the key trends that would translate into the current mood of dressing. The pandemic has made a lot of people think about their clothing and have a renewed focus on how they want to dress for their lifestyles.
I noticed a lot of clients that I worked with over lockdown are opting to buy less and only buying clothes that will have longevity in their wardrobes. It was great to see some of the fashion designers creating capsule collections, with timeless pieces that would become wardrobe staples. Other designers focused on bringing the joy back into dressing through fun, vibrant prints and colours. Some of the many trends included the bralette, monochrome dressing, pastels in the glorious ice-cream shades, statement coats, netting and printed headscarves.
What we wear can have a huge impact on our mood and really lift our spirits. As we ease back out of lockdown it is important that we focus on wearing the clothes that will not only make us look good but also help us to feel great. As a personal stylist, I love to discover the latest key trends that will work in line with my clients' personal styles. So, I have picked some of my favourite trends that I think will work really well for us women with curves.
THE TRENCH COAT
Catwalk designers such as Paco Rabbane, Nina Ricci, Marni and Luis Vuitton created cool trench coat styles with a twist. This includes exaggerated puff sleeves and print clashing. The trench coat is a classic Spring wardrobe staple. It is a light coat that can practically be thrown over any outfit. The best styles for us curvy women are the ones that cinch us in the waist. You don't even have to go too oversized. Focus on creating a good fit and flare silhouette. Here's a selection of my high street favourites.

OVERSIZED SHIRTS
The button down shirt was creatively reimagined on the catwalks, with pastel colours, oversized proportions and button up shirt dresses. I love a classic white shirt, the oversized look will hide any extra lockdown pounds and ensure that you look super stylish. Team up with relaxed mid-wash jeans, half tuck the shirt to show off a bit of waist and add mules for an effortlessly cool look.

WIDE LEG TROUSERS
Wide leg trousers were seen at Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Chanel. Now this is a trend that I think is always around throughout the seasons. I do like how this style of trouser helps to lengthen the leg. I am only 5'3" with a short leg so, I like wearing this style of trouser with a chunky open toe sandal or platform trainers. A wide leg trouser in a light weight floaty material is best for women with curves and super comfortable. It will hug the hips in the right places and gently float out elongating the leg. This classic piece is so versatile it can be worn from day to evening. I think it's a wardrobe 'must have'. Style up with a fitted top, blouse or blazer that will nip you in the waist.

PRINTED PUFF SLEEVE DRESS
Designers this season went big with impactful bright, bold floral prints and fun happy colours like yellows and neon's. A floral dress is a real joyful piece to wear in spring and summer. I love wearing printed dresses that camouflage my lumps and bumps. I also find them super easy to wear when it comes to dressing up daily. I always reach for a dress. I especially prefer to cover up my arms so, I love a puff sleeve to hide the top part of my arms. Here's my picks of puff sleeve and printed dresses.

SHOULDER PAD OVERSIZED BLAZER
I love a blazer! It can instantly smarten up a basic outfit. I have a nice little collection of vintage 1980's oversized blazers with shoulder pads. They have a great cut and still cinch me in the waist. Shoulder pads add a great edge to sloping shoulders. If you have a more prominent tummy and don't want to draw attention to this area then avoid a double breasted blazer. Instead opt for slim lapels with a single button fastening.

RELAXED JEANS
Could it be time to move away from our favourite skinny jeans? The catwalks saw designers Victoria Beckham, Etro, Celine and Balenciaga all showcasing relaxed slouchy jean styles. Over the last year a lot of us have been living in relaxed loungewear so it's only natural that we transition into a relaxed fit, comfy jeans now that we able to freely venture out again. Why not start by trying a straight leg jean, boyfriend or wide leg styles.

SQUARE TOE MULES AND THE DAD SANDAL
The dad sandals and square toe mules are the most prevalent shoe trends on the high street right now. I love the practicality and comfort of the dad sandal. It's perfect if you have wide feet and struggle to find a comfortable summer sandal. The square toe mules are also great to slip into and look so chic with a simple outfit of a nice top and jeans. See my selection of high street items below.
