The days of wearing boring tailored suits for the workplace are long gone. With many people still working from home and some heading back into the office the general consensus for workwear in many companies seems to be relaxed. The recent news of the collapse of shirt maker TM Lewin is further proof that many people are opting for casual workwear attire. This has also thrown many people into the daily conundrum of 'what to wear for work'. My recent online personal styling clients have asked how can they create relaxed workwear looks but still look put together.
The key to creating a relaxed workwear look is teaming smart pieces with relaxed items. This could be a tailored blazer paired with a basic top, wide-leg jersey trousers, and simple white trainers. Or a smart waist-defining dress with classic white pumps. As we move into spring there is lots of fun to be had with fresh new colours through clothes and accessories. Workwear doesn't have to be just all neutrals, adding an injection colour can really give your wardrobe a fresh new look.
Many women are also opting for comfortable stylish flat shoes that they can run around in. A simple white leather trainer will look smart with a pair of wide-leg trousers or opt for nude open-toe or pointy flats that will practically go with any of your outfits. Loafers are big this season as are mules and ballerina flats. I find nice flat shoes sell out quickly so if you see a good pair snap them up fast!
In this week's blog post I have created a selection of workwear looks from the high street with a balance of relaxed, smart-casual looks that will ensure you will look effortlessly stylish in the workplace.
